Specialist trauma therapy is for people who want to work specifically on their trauma histories and symptoms. These may include PTSD and Complex PTSD. Symptoms may include anxiety, depression, flashbacks, sleep disturbances, nightmares, anger outbursts, emotional dysregulation, hyper-vigilance, hypo-vigilanceavoidance, suicidal ideation and dissociation.

Trauma needs a specialist approach because it is primarily held in the body, the nervous system and the brain (neuroscience), and so we need specific techniques that know how to work with these areas. 

Trauma therapy is much more directive compared to counselling or psychotherapy. It is targeted work that takes you through a process of stabilisation, emotional regulation, trauma processing and integration. The focus is on eliminating symptoms and healing the trauma. In this process you will build your resilience, self-compassion, regain your self-sovereignty, feel normal agin and have increased wellbeing.

I use evidence-based trauma treatment modalities, such as EMDR, IRRT, Narrative Therapies, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT therapies that have been proven to successfully process trauma and have a positive and lasting effect on one's mental health and wellbeing.
